Even the cleanest of homes can feel cluttered sometimes, and it can easily build up and make your home feel disorganized. While we may aspire our homes to look beautiful and minimalistic like in home decor magazines, we’re only human and sometimes that’s not the case!

Life takes over and it can make being super organized difficult sometimes, but fortunately, there are a few things you can do to eliminate unnecessary mess and clutter.

Here are a few simple ways to make your home look less cluttered, and help with keeping your home tidy.

Make sure everything has a home

One of the most important steps to make your home look less cluttered is to make sure that everything has a home. If you currently throw your keys on the counter, leave your handbag lying around wherever, keep stacks of paper on the kitchen counter, and leave other bits and bobs in random places, your home will soon begin to look cluttered. Create a “home” for all of these items so they’re not left floating around the home – plus, it’ll make it easier to find things too!

Don’t let it build up

As soon as clutter starts to accumulate, more often than not it ends up just getting messier and more cluttered. To avoid having a mountain of things to organize, don’t let the clutter build up. For example, take out cardboard boxes and milk cartons to the recycling bin as soon as you no longer need them rather than letting them build up in your pantry.

Organize with baskets and jars

The pantry and laundry room can get cluttered so easily, so keep things nice and organized with baskets and jars. This’ll make the room look much more aesthetically pleasing, plus, things will be much more organized so it’s easier to find it when you need it.

Keep an area for “miscellaneous” items

We all have those “miscellaneous” items that we’re not quite sure what to do with, such as receipts, headphones, newspapers, and other little things. Rather than leaving them scattered around, create an area for these items so you have somewhere to put them.

Another simple way to make your look less cluttered is to keep on top of the cleaning. Hire a home cleaner to lighten your load and make sure that your home stays clean and organized with minimal effort on your part!
