When it comes to cleaning we could all use a little help to get it done more efficiently. Today we have compiled a list of helpful cleaning hacks that will get you started.
#1 – Blender – Fill your blender ¾ of the way up. Add in a couple drops of soap. Top it off with the lid and send it for a spin. Then rinse it out with warm water and you are all set to go. 
#2 – Sponges – We have all heard the usual about how much bacteria your kitchen sponge can carry. Next time you run your dishwasher toss your sponge in to. The wash will help to eliminate the accumulated bacteria. 
Did you also know you can remove the bacteria by popping it in the microwave for 30 seconds?
Tip – Give it a minute before trying to take it out of the microwave as it will be hot to the touch.
#3 – Air Vents – This is an area that most of us tend to neglect. The problem with not being cleaned regularly is your rooms will end up dustier more often. Allergies, giving you a hard time and it’s the middle 
of winter? Give your vents a clean and see the difference it makes.
Start by using one of your smaller brush vacuum attachments. Then soak a cloth in your preferred cleaning solution and wrap it around a butter knife. Use this set up to clean in between the slats and wash away the dust.

#4 – Blinds – If you are like most people, then cleaning blinds is a pet peeve. One that you most likely avoid at all costs. Here are a couple of quick easier ways to keep them clean.
- Equal parts of water and vinegar in a bowl. Wet a sock in the solution and place it over your hand. Use this to rub each slat of the blind in order to get the dust off them.
- Using the same solution attach a small rag or towel to the ends of a set of tongs with an elastic. Using the tong ends, dust off the the dirt and grime from each slat on your blinds.
#5 – Laundry – Looking for a way to brighten your clothes without adding harsh chemicals? Try a cup of baking soda with your wash. You will have your clothes coming out whiter and brighter every time.
This next tip is definitely one of my favourite cleaning hacks.
#6 – Shower Scum – Shower scum is a weekly workout most times. Well, not after today.
Next time you have to clean your tub and or shower mix together 2 parts vinegar to 1 part dish soap (I use blue Dawn as I find it works best for me). Place it into a spray bottle and soak your tub and shower. Make sure you soak all the tile grout as well. The shower doors if you have them can also be sprayed. Leave it to soak for 10-15 minutes, then come back and give it a wipe down and rinse. Sparkling clean with next to no effort.

#7 – Broken Glass – You broke a glass and it shattered. Now there are tiny pieces everywhere and I mean EVERYWHERE. To avoid cutting your hands on the pieces being picked up, grab a piece of bread and press it down onto the glass to clean it up safely. 
#8 – Microwave – This is the home of every explosive mess you can imagine. Messes you would rather not spend time scrubbing off. To save you some time and effort next cleaning day, mix equal parts of vinegar and water into a spray bottle. Spray it all over the inside of the microwave. Leave it to soak for 10 minutes. Come back and simply wipe away, no scrubbing required.
#9 – Couch – Lingering smells in your living room furniture? Baking soda is your best friend. Before you vacuum sprinkle your couch with baking soda.
#10 – Windows – Everyone wants that clean window shine. Now you can have that too. Add 2 tablespoons of vinegar to a spray bottle filled with water. Spray your windows with this mixture and wipe away with a soft microfiber cloth to avoid streaking.
